While we will provide flags, you should bring a rifle and/or sabre with you if you plan to audition for a weapon spot.
We request that you wear comfortable, form-fitting dance attire that allows you to move easily while also allowing the staff to see the line of your body during dance. Please dress in layers so that you can remove heavier articles of clothing as your body warms. You may wear dance shoes or dance in your bare feet, but comfortable running shoes (with good support and flexibility) are recommended to be worn throughout the weekend.
If you are not able to make it to audition camp, you can contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to inquire about submitting an audition video. Attending the camp is highly encouraged. The audition work will be posted within 72 hours of the conclusion of camp. All audition videos must be submitted no later the following Friday of a scheduled camp.
WGI discourages high school winter guard performers from participating in Independent WGI groups. High School students who were previously enrolled in an active winter guard program at their school are encouraged to audition after they graduate. If your high school does not have an active winter guard program, you are eligible to audition. All high school students who wish to audition with One Light must have a letter from their school principal releasing them to perform with One Light. The letter is due prior to the first rehearsal.
All who audition for One Light will be notified vial email or phone within a week of auditions.
Membership fees for the Winter Guard season are $1,200.00 per member. A fee schedule will be provided to allow members to make incremental payments. All fees are due by January 1 of the Competition Season. Reach out to us through the Contact Us form if you would like to receive ideas for fundraising your fees.
All rehearsals will be in the Indianapolis Metropolitan Area and surrounding counties.
Exact locations will be provided prior to camps.
