WHAT IS ONE LIGHT PERFORMANCE ARTS CORPORATION?

One Light is a performing arts organization that will be competing as an Independent "A Class" WGI Winter Guard.

WHEN AND WHERE CAN I AUDITION FOR ONE LIGHT?

HOW MUCH DOES THE AUDITION CAMP COST, AND WHAT EXPENSES SHOULD I EXPECT TO COVER ON MY OWN?

The audition fee is $35.00. Lunch will be at your own expense. All audition fees are non-refundable.

HOW DO I REGISTER TO ATTEND THE AUDITIONS?

To register, you must complete and submit the online registration form on the upcoming events tab. All audition fees are non-refundable.

WHAT WILL THE SEASON REHEARSAL SCHEDULE BE?

One Light will typically hold 3 Friday night rehearsals per month during the competition season. Saturday rehearsals are typically from 11:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m., and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING WITH ME TO AUDITIONS?

While we will provide flags, you should bring a rifle and/or sabre with you if you plan to audition for a weapon spot. One Light spins 37.5 inch rifle and 39 inch sabre. Bring a water jug or water bottle for breaks.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO AUDITION AND REHEARSALS?

We request that you wear comfortable, form-fitting dance attire that allows you to move easily while also allowing the staff to see the line of your body during dance. Please dress in layers so that you can remove heavier articles of clothing, as your body warms. You may wear dance shoes or dance in your bare feet, but comfortable running shoes (with good support and flexibility) are recommended to be worn.

CAN I PERFORM WITH ONE LIGHT IF I AM ALREADY PARTICIPATING IN MY HIGH SCHOOL WINTERGUARD PROGRAM?

WGI discourages high school winter guard performers from participating in Independent WGI groups. High school students are not eligible to participate in the competitive group if their high school offers a competitive winter guard program. All high school students who wish to audition with One Light must have a letter from their school principal releasing them to perform with One Light. The letter must be received by the first rehearsal following auditions.

WHEN AND HOW WILL I BE NOTIFIED IF I HAVE MADE ONE LIGHT FOR THE SEASON?

One Light will contact everyone via email within 5-7 days after auditions.

HOW MUCH ARE MEMBERSHIP FEES?

A fee schedule will be provided to allow members to make incremental payments. Please reach out to us through the Contact Us form, if you would like to receive ideas for fundraising your fees.

WHERE WILL REHEARSALS BE LOCATED?

All rehearsals will be in the Indianapolis Metropolitan Area and surrounding counties.

Exact locations will be provided prior to camps.

WILL FOOD BE PROVIDED OR SHOULD I BRING MY OWN?

The majority of member meals are on their own.

WILL HOUSING BE PROVIDED?

During the competitive season, all members should consider housing with other members to keep cost down. No member may stay alone or without other One Light members. One Light has housing during rehearsal weekends for those who are unable to secure other housing or travel. When housing is provided during competitive weekends, all members must stay at the assigned housing site. All members will have a curfew at these housing sites.

WHAT IS NOT COVERED IN MEMBERSHIP FEES?

Not included in the membership fees: Travel to and from contest/rehearsals, jackets, merchandise booth items, shoes, gloves, make-up, and undergarments needed for performance. Majority of meals will be at the member's own expense.
