One Light Performance Arts (also known as One Light) was created in the Summer of 2019, by John and Erin Hughes. John and Erin believed that there was a need for WGI Independent groups in Indiana and giving back to the performance arts community. As previous performance arts members, both under Star of Indiana Drum and Bugle Corp. and additionally Erin with Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corp, they were taught several core values. Some of these values included, giving back, removing barriers, and providing the best environment for members and staff. John and Erin reached out to other well-known performance arts colleagues Robin Galbraith, Marni Morris, and Chad Young to create the 2019 One Light Performance Arts Board of Directors. 

Since 2019, One Light Performance Arts has been providing a safe, educational environment for young people between the ages of 16 and 23 to support their growth and development through performance. More important, it provides our members the opportunity to push themselves beyond their own expectations; sharpen their confidence, discipline, perseverance, and collaboration; enhance their mental, social, and physical development; build lifelong skills and friendships.

One Light Performance Arts is a 501(c)3 organization competing within Winter Guard International (WGI) as an Independent unit.
